101 goals to do in 1001 days

I've seen this link in a few friend's profiles and journals and thought I would attempt this as well. We all know how I enjoy making lists. Here's the link: http://triplux.stilljournal.com/dayzero/

The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
The Criteria:Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).


Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Start: March 28th 2008
End: December 24nd, 2010

1. Have professional musicians work with my students (April 3, 2008)

2. Give a memorable shower/party for Dani's wedding : ) (June 14th, 2008)


3. Get a new laptop

4. Give up on coffee for a week

5. Don't drink soda for a week

6. Run a mile without stopping

7. Play "I'm as asshole" on guitar

8. Play an OAR song on guitar

9. Eat as a vegetarian for a week

10. Take a bar tending class with Kimmy

11. See a DCI show (again)

12. Go see Muse for a second time

13. See the NY Phil

14. Adopt a dog or kitten (August 08, Annabelle the Yorkie:)

15. Take a dancing class

16. Go kayaking (week of July 14th)

17. Try a new recipe (many...but fav. is beef strogonoff Oct 08)


18. Submit a secret I have to postsecret (postsecret.com)

19. Sell something on Ebay

20. Donate clothes I am not using to charity (June 28th)

21. Try yoga

22. Go horseback riding

23. Write a letter to myself to read when I turn 35 (ten years)

24. Go Skiing

25. Read the Bible... and understand it

26. Observe reputable teachers, and learn from their techniques

27. Visit Texas to see the McConnell's (April 2008)

28. Read 5 books (0/5) -excluding my books on tape (5/5 as of November 08)


29. Go Camping

30. Go to a vineyard

31. visit Jen and Sarah in Philly : ) (November 08)

32. Go to NYC with my mom (May 2008)

33. Have a sleep-over with my girl friends

34. Take a bubble bath with candles and a good book/good music

35. Mail Christmas cards (December 08)

36. Learn how to replace my windshield wipers

37. Add more memory to my laptop so it runs faster 3/30 added 1 gig and it worked wonders!

38. Have a food log/journal for one month

40. Pay for some one's toll behind my car

43. Play my trumpet in a group/ensemble (Auditioned and play in the Ridgewood Concert Band Fall 08)

44. Organize all my photos- burn to disk

49. Go rollerblading

50. Compliment a stranger

51. Don't say anything negative for a week

52. Cancel my Myspace account

53. Go to the gym every day for one week

88. Buy a wedding gift for Danielle and Mike (July 2008)

89. Play basketball in my driveway

90. Try something new at a restaurant (June 2008..BBQ Calamari, yum)

91. Buy a dress and wear it (September 08)

92. Go bowling (May 2008, Dad's bday haha)

93. Take pictures in a photo booth with a friend/clinton

94. Make hummus from scratch

95. Go to the Fair, and enjoy a wine slushy : )

96. Make a pizza from scratch (June 2008, Laverossi's)

97. Go for an evening walk with someone I care about

98. Go to a taping of a TV show

99. Have a professional picture taken of my family (Jan 08)

100. Do something that makes me uncomfortable

101. Every task not completed will be 1 hour of volunteering/service
